Fall 1996 Fellows
Anthony Adams is an Associate Professor at EMU who teaches courses in introductory sociology, statistics, research methodology, and sociology of education, with particular interests in school discipline at the secondary level, discipline policy, and school violence. Professor Adams' has involved a middle school in a nearby community to engage his students in telementoring activities.

Elvia Krajewski-Jaime is a professor in the Department of Social Work. Under her leadership, exchange programs involving faculty, students, and professionals, have been developed with institutions in Mexico, Latin America, and England.

Dr. Lee has left the University. He was in the Department of Interdisciplinary Technology.
Dr. North has left the University. She was an Associate Professor in HECR.
Susan Ravenscroft has left the University. She was a professor in the college of Business.
Darcelle White is an Associate Professor at EMU in the College of Technology, Department of Business and Technology Education. She teaches in the areas of paralegal studies, administrative management, women's studies, and college success. Darcelle has also practiced law in the state of Michigan since 1978. She used academic service-learning in the following courses:
Students were at Huron Valley Boys and Girls Club, Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office, National Institute for Consumer Education-EMU, Ann Arbor Development Corp., and the Office of Academic Service-Learning-EMU.
The students assessed the status of records systems, inventoried records, analyzed the data, and made recommendations for improvement. They also provided a plan the organization could use to implement their recommendations. A comprehensive written report was provided to the agency at the end of the project.
Students were at the Office of Academic Service-Learning-EMU, Dept. of Social Work-EMU, Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce, Huron Valley Boys and Girls Club, and Ann Arbor Development Corp.
The students assessed what systems were in operation, analyzed how those systems operated, and then made recommendations on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of operation. They submitted a comprehensive report that detailed their recommendations and provided a plan for how to implement the recommendations.
Students are also engaging in academic service-learning projects with small businesses that might not necessarily be able to obtain the types of management consultation students learn to provide in BEDU 395 and BEDU 396.
